Ingredients:
2 pks. White Candy Melts® Candy
Candy Clay
Light Cocoa Candy Melts® Candy (optional)
Dark Cocoa Candy Melts® Candy (optional)
Tools:
6 in. Round Pan
Lollipop Sticks
Waxed paper
Instructions:
Step 1:
Make a full recipe of Candy Clay using White Candy Melts® according to directions. Let candy clay rest in a plastic bag overnight for best results.
Melt White Candy Melts®. Cut twelve 3 in. lengths of Lollipop Sticks; dip sticks into candy and place on waxed paper; refrigerate to set. Pour remaining melted candy into bottom of pan to a depth of 1/4 in. Immediately push lollipop sticks into candy, spacing evenly around edge. Refrigerate until set and unmold. Note: An even number of sticks is essential for the weaving to work out.
Step 2:
Knead candy clay until soft and pliable. Roll out ropes, approximately 24″ by 1/2 ” diameter. Weave rope around sticks, going in and out; smooth ends together. Repeat as many times as needed to reach the height of the sticks, leaving 1/4″ at top exposed.
Step 3:
For top rim, twist two ropes loosely together, add to top edge of basket, pressing into tops of lollipop sticks and securing with melted candy, if necessary.
