Cake pops are very popular these days, and there is no wonder why. These tiny treats are small, affordable,  cute,  and delicious! They are also a fantastic way for you to use up your cake scraps and off cuts. Much better than throwing all that potential profit away! So here we go…how to make cake pops!
 
Make a few of these for simple gifts to family and friends. Have fun experimenting – and then you can easily sell them. These will go very quickly!
 

How to Make Cake Pops Quickly – 13 Steps to Yummm

  1. Take some cake scraps from one of your recent creations – or bake a standard 9 inch round and let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cake into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add whichever kind of icing you wish to use. Use only a few tablespoons at first and then fold it into the cake crumbles. Adding a bit more until you reach a consistency like meatloaf or play dough. Remember to FOLD and not stir.
  4. Prepare a baking sheet or cake pan with non-stick oil, spray, or wax paper.
  5. Scoop out a portion of the cake and icing mix using an ice cream scoop,  melon baller,  or a teaspoon. Then roll gently with your hand to get a nice ball shape. Place the cake balls onto your baking sheet. how to make cake pops
  6. Melt a small amount of chocolate in a small bowl and then dip 1/4 of the end of a sucker stick into the chocolate. Then stick the stick into a cake ball. repeat for all cake pops.
  7. Now take each sucker pop and place it upright into a styrofoam block or cardboard box. The tops of the pops may be a little flat from siting on the baking sheet. You can use your fingers and gentle pressure to re-form them.
  8. Place the pops in the freezer for 30 minutes to 1 hour.  
  9. Just before taking the pops out of the freezer, melt some chocolate and then take it off the heat. You want it to be a smooth melted texture, but not a hot liquid.
  10. Now dip each cake pop in the chocolate, making sure to cover all the cake and a bit of the sucker stick to hold them on. Twirl each cake pop after dipping to remove the excess chocolate.
  11. Optional: you can now add sprinkles or coloured sugar to the pops if you desire. Do this while the chocolate is wet. 
  12. Place the pops back into the styrofoam block.
  13. Then then place them in the freezer for about 10 minutes to harden the chocolate.

Package the pops up nicely or decorate them with coloured chocolate drizzles as you wish.
