The childhood moment that shaped my money mindset…

When I was growing up, money was scarce.

My father started his own building business with just £5 and a bicycle—at least, that’s how the story goes.

He worked hard, struggled for years, and eventually landed a big contract repairing fire-damaged houses and even some World War II-damaged properties in London.

When things finally stabilized, he did something unexpected.

He bought a caravan.

Back then, it was unusual. Shiny, brand new, and sitting proudly on our driveway awaiting our first trip to Europe.

It got attention—especially from my classmates who walked past our house every day.

One girl decided this was her chance to single me out.

She called me “Money Bags.” Over and over. In front of everyone.

That playground taunting stuck with me for years.  I even remember the girl’s name!

It gave me a big complex about money over the years to follow —having it, asking for it, even showing that I had it.

And it got me thinking…

How many of us are carrying around old stories about money?

Maybe someone once told you that charging “too much” was greedy.

Maybe you were made to feel guilty for wanting more.

Maybe you hesitate to charge what your cakes are actually worth.

But what if those beliefs are holding you back?

The truth is, your talent deserves to be valued. And I’m passionate about helping cake decorators break free from the stories that keep them undercharging, overworking, and struggling.

That’s what we do at CakeCoachOnline.

Are you ready to shift your mindset and claim what you’re worth?

Let’s talk.
